There is a myriad of ways to look at a city, to break the experience down into its component parts. Different things will capture our attention.
Each of the pages in this section is a collection of images arranged around a specific idea. These groupings may be obvious, they may be tentative. And no matter how I have grouped them, they could easily be sorted differently.
Some of the categories are deliberate, and are actively sought by me in cities. I am not sure why I find fire hydrants, fascinating, for instance, but I do. Likewise graffiti and posters, sea containers, stairs and alleyways.
Others–often the more esoteric and profound groupings–become visible only when looking longitudinally at a large number of images over a long period of time.
